Panoramic, breathtaking view from all sides of the house and land plot.
The property is located in the Athens suburb of Paiania, at the foot of Hymettos Mountain (300 m. height). It is just 10 minutes drive from Athens (El. Venizelos) airport and 15 minutes drive from Athens city centre; due to the proximity to Attiki Odos (ring road of Athens). School at 300 m. Banks, markets etc at 600 m.
Paiania (Peania) is a quiet little town in the countryside at only 15min from Athens centre. Paiania is known for its green meadows and hills which are a walker’s or cyclist’s paradise. There is a large network of little country roads and mountain paths for those who like to be outdoors. It is located in East Attica in Messogia Valley, at the East side of Hymettos mountain.
- The property (total house & studio area 250 sq.m / land plot 7533 sq.m) is in fact at the foot of Hymettos mountain, at the edge of the reserved natural area of Hymettos coniferous forest, in an absolute calm and unspoilt environment.
- The view from all sides of the house and land plot is really panoramic and breathtaking: the golden valley of Messogia, the olive groves and vineyards, the blue sea, the islands at the horizon where sun rises. There is ample opportunity to witness the vast array of wildlife that inhabits this area – foxes, turtles, hareς, numerous species of birds throughout the year. After a hard day’s work, nothing’s more enjoyable than to come home to an oasis of rest.
There are neighbours on one side of the property and across the agricultural road whom we have found to be friendly, helpful and charming although it is rare that we ever see them – they respect the privacy of others.
Nevertheless the town offers all amenities such as bakeries, butchers, restaurants, schools, banks, supermarket etc. Within 10 km of the property, there are the amazing beaches of Attica, summer tourist facilities which offer swimming, fishing, boating, etc
The small town of Paiania was famous in ancient Greece due to its rich valley, agriculture and the “Honey of Hymettos” (well known and precious from the times of classical antiquity). Many ancient philosophers and politicians were born in Paiania: Demosthenes, Rinon, Callecrates, Philon etc.
Till 1970, most of its habitants were farmers. Today, Paiania is a modern developing suburb of Athens due to its natural beauty and proximity to Athens centre. Many beautiful villas have been built all over the place since then.
It is a town preferred by artists, art collectors as well as business men as they can combine the advantages of a rural holiday residence with the urban habits of everyday life.
Among the popular and cultural places for visit are the Vores Museum of Contemporary Art, the Koutouki Stalactitic Cave (The cave consists of one main cavern with several patricians festooned with fine, multi-colored groupings of stalagmites and columns. Artistically concealed artificial lighting in this cave is considered to be among some of the best in the world – ten minutes walking distance from the property), the late Byzantine churches (Agia Paraskevi, Agia Triada, etc.), with frescoes.
